Christopher Nolan's Merging An Original Idea With Jonah Nolan's Old Screenplay For 'Interstellar'

It looks like Christopher Nolan fans will still have plenty to talk to about in 2013 -- and it won't all be about the Oscar snub "The Dark Knight Rises" received. Last night came word that, awards season or not, Nolan was already putting together a new project, the sci-fi pic "Interstellar." The big talking point around the movie was that it was something Steven Spielberg was once kicking around, with a script by Jonah Nolan and a story developed by theoretical physicist Kip Thorne. But now, there's even more reason to be excited, as the director will be putting his own distinct stamp on the material. According to Deadline, Nolan is taking the script that his brother wrote, and combining it with his own original idea, and writing a new script (the movie will retain the title). Thorne is still on board as a technical consultant. As for the exact story, »

IMAX Sets ‘Raiders Of The Lost Ark’ Re-Release

They haven’t announced it officially yet, but my geek brethren are over it like a fat kid on a piece of cake. Director Steven Spielberg and executive producerGeorge Lucas have set Raiders Of The Lost Ark to be released for an exclusive one-week engagement in select IMAX theatres beginning September 7, 2012. This falls just before the Blu-ray release of the Indiana Jones movies, which will go on sale Sept. 18. Isn’t it nice when Hollywood occasionally goes the extra mile to give grand treatment for a movie we want to see, as opposed to the 3D conversions of all the Star Wars movies. Here’s an idea. Do all the early Spielberg movies on IMAX, starting with The Duel and ending with…you know what, do all of them! I promise I will show up. Then, do Scorsese. And for that matter, who wouldn’t sit through IMAX releases »

Casting Net: Robert Pattinson to play Lawrence of Arabia. Plus: Tobey Maguire, Dermot Mulroney, Robin Wright

• Robert Pattinson will play T.E. Lawrence — i.e. Lawrence of Arabia — in Queen of the Desert, a biopic of English writer and explorer Gertrude Bell (Naomi Watts), who worked with Lawrence to help establish the nation states of Jordan and Iraq after World War I. Director Werner Herzog also penned the screenplay, so it’s sure to be a lighthearted laugh riot. [Variety]
• Tobey Maguire is attached to produce and star in Z for Zachariah, an adaptation of the Robert C. O’Brien novel about a young woman who, thanks to the unique weather patterns of the small, self-contained valley where she lives, »

John Legend Treated in the ER for Flu

John Legend could use a lift healthwise. On his way back over the weekend to New York City after a trip to South Africa, the R&B songster apparently picked up a bug and felt ill enough that he paid a visit to his local emergency room. The good news is he's going to be Ok. A rep for the 33-year-old Legend tells E! News he was treated in the ER Saturday morning for the flu but he is now resting at home and doing "fine." The "So High" singer subsequently posted an update for his fans to that effect on Twitter. "Just got back to the U.S. Thanks to all my South African fans! I was a bit under the weather this weekend but you helped me through it," the Duets »

'Teen Wolf' finale recap: Scott and Stiles end up back where they began as a new enemy emerges

It's no secret that we're totally obsessed with "Teen Wolf" here at Zap2it, so when Jackson (Colton Haynes) died at the end of last week's episode, we may or may not have held several prayer circles and candlelight vigils. We can neither confirm nor deny.
We were pretty anxious going into tonight's Season 2 finale, and with good reason: the episode delivered death, gut-wrenching twists, heartbreaks... and, finally, a series of nerve-wracking cliffhangers.
As for Jackson's death -- let's just say rumors were greatly exaggerated. Lydia (Holland Roden) was devastated by his passing, but everyone else seemed preoccupied. (Where were his adoptive parents? Shouldn't they have been shedding some tears over his body?) Fortunately for us, Jackson did wake up before the midway point of the episode -- and we were just about to compose a hate-tweet to show runner Jeff Davis, too! Turns out, Gerard (Michael Hogan) wasn't quite done with his pet lizard. »
